Intensive course for educational leave

Learn Spanish in the authentic language environment in Spain. The one- to two-week basic course for Spanish as a foreign language in Puerto de la Cruz or Costa Adeje (Teneriffa) is aimed at those who like to visit a language course tailored to your learning needs during an educational holiday and at the same time want to get to know the culture.

The course is offered by Spanish native speakers. All four language skills (hearing, speaking, reading and writing) are also taken into account. In addition, participants in the language course have the opportunity to take advantage of many different leisure activities to get to know the culture of the country.

Spanish is the native language of almost 400 million people and is the most learned foreign language in English.

Puerto de la Cruz (Northern)

Puerto de la Cruz is a former fishing village that has become one of the most visited places in Tenerife due to its charm, friendly atmosphere and subtropical climate. Above the city lies the green and fertile Orotava valley.

In addition to beautiful beaches (Playa Jardín and Martiánez), Puerto de la Cruz offers attractions such as the Botanical Garden, the Loro Park and the lush Taoro Park.

Our partner school in Puerto de la Cruz is equipped with 8 air-conditioned rooms, a sun terrace and a gym to offer you every comfort during your learning breaks.

Costa Adeje (South)

The municipality of Adeje is located in the southwest of the island. The mild temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees make the region a year-round holiday paradise. Costa Adeje is equipped with a variety of hotels, bars, restaurants and nightclubs and offers entertainment for all ages. In addition to the diverse range, tourists also appreciate the beautiful sandy beaches and the landscape, which invite you to rest during the day.

Flexible course start: every Monday a year (exception: start of course for beginners without prior knowledge every 1st and 3rd Monday a month)
Single course levels: Course levels depend on the European Reference Framework (A1-C2). We offer a language test on arrival.
Effective teaching methods: Our local partner school offers a unique, communication-oriented teaching method, which requires students at the same time and gives them fun in teaching.
Educational staff: All language teachers are native speakers and have a university degree and at least 5 years of experience in teaching. Each of them has developed an individual method to give students fun and enthusiasm in language learning.

The Spanish Intensive Course is recognized as an educational holiday in the following Länder:

Hamburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Saxony, Hesse, Berlin, Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Saarland, Bremen and Thuringia.

Course details, schedule, learning objectives

The course type is an intensive 30 course, which includes 30 lessons per week (a teaching unit equals 45 minutes). Teaching takes place from Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 14:00 (with 2 coffee breaks of 15 minutes).
The Beginning Course starts each first and 3rd Monday a month.

Through a wide range of oral, written, and hearing exercises, as well as grammar, phonetics and exercises on the written language, you will quickly find access to the Spanish language as a beginner or as an advanced learner will quickly expand your knowledge. Vocabulary exercises and small role-playing games complement the program and provide a short and successful learning process that covers a variety of important topics.

Learning objectives according to the European Framework of Reference

Objectives A1 (“basic I”): TN can understand and use very simple everyday expressions and meet specific needs as to imagine. TN can participate in simple communication if the counterpart speaks slowly.

Objectives A2: (“basic II)”: TN can understand sentences and frequently used expressions, e.g. personal data or data about the family. TN can exchange information and do routine tasks. They can describe their background and their surroundings.

Learning objectives B1 (“medium level I”): TN can understand the main contents of well-known topics such as work, school, leisure etc. You can easily find your way through Spanish-speaking countries. TN can express and describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes and goals and give brief explanations of their personal plans.
